THE NIGHT FALLS

 

The story takes place in Falls Church, Virginia.

In a brick house, there lived Manuel Johnson, who had three best friends, who stayed not to far from him, they were, Jose Jordan, Michael Martin and Terrance Scott.

These young men were childhood best friends.

It was a sunny day in Falls Church.

They had a parade that was passing by and Manuel and his three friends were outside.

These young men were in their early twenties

Manuel was a janitor, at the Jamestown University in Arlington, Virginia. Jose was a police officer, of Falls Church Police Department.

Michael was a songwriter for Kings Garden Publishing on the out part of Falls Church, Virginia and Terrance was a website designer, for Jeremy’s Web Palace.

These young men were on vacation from their jobs, so, they decided to enjoy the parade.

A few minutes later, the parade had ended, and night started to fall.

Manuel, had turned on the television, to watch the news.

The news anchor, was talking about, a young man that had gotten killed last week

His name was Marshall Smith, who was a young Latino American, who had died.

The news anchor continued, to say, that a killer was on the loose, in Falls Church.

The news anchor continued to say, everyone, must be aware of the Falls Church murder.

As soon as Manuel had heard the story, he called Michael and started talking to him.

“My brother, did you get a chance to watch the news”.

“Yeah coz, I had seen it”, Michael said.

“We better be on our guard, because, there is a killer, out there, running loose in our city, and we have to stick together, as brothers”, Manuel said, as he had fear in this eyes.

Manuel knew that killer could strike any moment, so, he was ready for the killer.

Meanwhile, Michael called Jose and he was talking to Jose.

“My coz, Manuel, called about the killer on the news”.

“Yeah, I heard about it man”, Jose said.

“So what are we going to do?”, Michael asked.

“We got to stick together”, Jose said.

Then as soon as Jose hung up with Michael, he called Terrance.

“What up brother?”, Jose asked.

“Nothing man”, Terrance said.

“Did you see the news tonight, brother?”, Jose asked.

“Yeah man, so what are going to do about this situation?”, Terrance asked.

.“Stick together, my brother”, Jose said.

“Yeah coz, we’ll have to do that”, Terrance said.

As soon as it was night fall, the young men and their parents were sleeping.

Meanwhile, a man was riding in the neighborhood and he turned his lights off.

He pulled in an empty lot, where someone had moved out of the house.

The house was abandon for five years.

It was Abraham Gonzales house.

Abraham was a young rapper, who had gotten shot years ago, in Los Angeles, California.

He was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

So, as soon as the man pulled in the drive-way, he opened his car door slowly and started to get out of his car.

He stepped out of the car and slowly closed the car door.

He walked toward the house and took his Slim Jim out, where, he started working on the door.

He was trying to get the door opened.

A few minutes later he had gotten the door open and went inside.

He walked in and notice that it was dark, so, he started looking around.

He started in the living room and went towards the kitchen.

The mysterious man was headed for the bedroom and he had decided to hatch, some plans for these people, that were staying in the city.

After that, the stranger decided to go outside towards his car, to get a bag out.

Meanwhile, Manuel could not sleep, he was thinking about what the news anchor was saying. So, he started to get out of his bed and went towards the living room.

He went towards the window and he slowly moved the curtains towards the left hand side, of the window and he saw a mysterious car, in Abraham’s drive-way.

Abraham had lived next door to Manuel, before he died.

He looked for a few minutes, and then a man had came out, of the house and went to his car. Manuel had slowly moved the curtains back, and he decided to check it out for himself. Manuel had went towards the front door and he slowly opened it.

When he stepped outside of his parent’s house, he had saw a man coming out of the house, and went to his car.

The stranger started digging in his car.

Manuel did not know what the stranger was looking for, so he decided to take a closer look, at what the man was looking for.

As soon as Manuel had gotten close to the car.

Manuel, had went towards the back of the car and he ducked behind the tail end of the car.

He was hoping to get a closer look, at what the stranger was getting ready to do.

Manuel, walked slowly, as he was in a squat position, towards the passenger side of the car and raised his head, to look at the passenger side’s window, to see what the stranger was doing.

He notice the stranger had gotten something out of his car, but, he wasn’t sure what it was. The stranger had close his car door and Manuel, ducked his head.

When the stranger was headed for the house, Manuel started to move towards the back of the car.

The stranger went inside and close the door.

Manuel wanted to find out, who this stranger was.

He ran towards the door, to see if the front door, of the house was unlocked.

He went towards the door and he slowly turn the knob.

He slowly opened the door and he started to look around, to see if the stranger was near by, even though it was dark in the house.

Manuel, had turn his head towards the kitchen, and saw some candles burning near the kitchen sink, then he looked back at the living room.

Manuel was looking for the stranger, and it seemed, the stranger was not there, so he thought. He saw some furniture, that was still in the house, and Manuel was puzzled about seeing any furniture in the house.

Manuel knew that the movers came to take the furniture out of the house, or so he thought. Manuel decided to enter into the house and look around.

He was looking for clues.

He remembered the house belonged to Abraham, who was a rapper.

He remembered on the newspaper, that Abraham was killed in Los Angeles, California.

After that, he didn’t hear any more stories.

Manuel was thinking, that maybe Abraham didn’t die, maybe he was alive and he came back to his house.

Manuel wasn’t sure about that idea, he came up with, but, it seem to fit this situation.

Manuel went into the kitchen and find some clues.

He saw some gold chains in the sink and the candles were burning, near the kitchen sink.

He wanted to know, why would a stranger carry around any gold chains and why was the candle burning, near the kitchen sink.

Then, Manuel took a closer look at the chains, and it looked like the gold chains, Abraham use to wear, when he recorded a music video.

Manuel had to take a closer look around the house.

Manuel, went towards, one of the bedrooms, in the house and he saw a television on, one of the dresser draws, in the bedroom and he notice a hall way, and down the hall way there were more rooms.

It looked like Abraham left everything in the house.

Suddenly, Manuel heard some noise down the hall way.

Manuel, rushed under the bed and he saw a pair of black shoes, walking towards the kitchen area.

Manuel had gotten up, from under the bed and went towards the door of the bedroom.

The stranger was walking towards the door and then, he turn around and said to himself, “I think I have everything, I need”.

Then, the stranger walked out of the door and he was headed for his car.

Manuel started to walk, towards the living room.

Manuel, decided to go to the window, which was in the living room, to see who the stranger was.

He went towards the window and push the curtains, slowly, towards the left had side of the window.

He saw the man and he said to himself, “I know who it is”.

Manuel, had a shock look on his face.

He was getting ready to leave, when he hear someone trying to open the door.

So, Manuel ran towards the sofa, where he saw a opening, between, the dresser and the sofa. He ducked between the sofa and the dresser.

Then, the stranger walked back into the house and was headed for one of the bedrooms, in the house.

Manuel had hurried up and walked, fast towards the door and slowly open it.

He left the house and ran towards his parent’s house.

He opened the door, to his parent’s house, slowly and walked in. Manuel’s heart was beating so fast, he had to sit down on the sofa.

Manuel decided to go back to bed and try to forget what he saw.

The next morning, Manuel and his parents woke up and they were getting ready to go to work.

While, Manuel’s friends and their families were doing the same thing.

Before Manuel left, he went outside to see if the car was still next door and it wasn’t there anymore.

Manuel didn’t know what had happen to the stranger.

As soon as Manuel’s parent were dressed, they were headed for their truck, so they could go to work.

Manuel’s mother worked in the cafeteria at the high school and his father was a lawyer at Jeremiah’s Law Firm.

Every morning, Manuel’s father always dropped his wife to work, and then he was headed for the law firm. Manuel’s parents told Manuel that they would see him soon.

As Manuel’s parents were leaving, Manuel was getting in his car, when he suddenly, saw, the same car was pulling in the drive way at Abraham’s house.

Then, the stranger decided to go to Terrance’s parent’s house.

Terrance’s Family had left early to go to work, that morning.

Terrance was headed for Jeremy’s Web Palace.

Terrance’s mother was a insurance agent and his father was a janitor at Thomas High School. Manuel, had saw the man at Terrance’s parents house.

The stranger had gotten down, with a crow bar in his hand.

Manuel had called nine-one-one.

Manuel told the operator, he is looking at a man, that is breaking into Terrance’s parents house and that, they need to send some help.

The operator said, “Help is on the way”.

As soon as the man had open the door, with the crow bar, he went inside.

Manuel had ran across the road, to find out what the man was looking for, in Terrance’s parent’s house.

Meanwhile, Jose’s was listening to his c. b. radio and it was the operator tell all officers about the crime, in progress.

Jose was the only cop on the scene, so he took off.

Meanwhile, Manuel had enter into, Terrance’s parent’s house and he started to find out, what the stranger wanted in Terrance‘s parent’s house

Manuel felt he had to do something, but, in his mind, what could he do.

Manuel was thinking of a plan that might lure the stranger out of Terrance’s parents house. So, Manuel went outside and suddenly, Jose had show up in the nick of time.

Manuel told Jose the whole story but, Jose told Manuel he heard it on the police’s radio, that was in the police patrol.

Jose took his gun out and he was going to enter into Terrance’s parents house.

As soon as Jose had came close, to the door, the stranger was getting out of Terrance's parent’s bedroom, with a bag in his hand.

The stranger had went to the living room, when he saw a figure leaving out the backdoor.

As soon, Jose saw the figure leaving out the backdoor, he ran after him.

Jose ran through the kitchen of the house, where they had a backdoor to the back door and he started to chase the stranger.

“Stop!, I am a police officer!” Jose yelled.

When the stranger heard that, he ran so fast, that he dropped the bag, that he was caring and ran towards his car and had gotten in and took off.

Jose was too late to even see the plate licenses.

Meanwhile, Manuel had went inside and he saw the back door opened and then, he had went to close but, Jose was coming back inside, with the bag in his hand.

Jose told Manuel he didn’t get good glimpse at the guy and he even couldn’t get the licenses plate number, off of the car.

At that point, Jose was disappointed.
Manuel had told Jose, he had call Terrance, to tell him someone had broke into his parent’s house.

Manuel asked Jose, “What is in the bag?”.

Jose told him, “I don’t know, but, I’ll take a look inside”.

Jose looked inside of the bag and it was some money, that was inside of the bag.

Jose was baffled.

He didn’t know what to think.

Manuel had seen the money and he was baffled like Jose.

They did not know what the stranger was doing, with some money, and why was he in Terrance’s parents house.

Jose and Manuel decided they were going to get to the bottom of this case.

As soon as Terrance came home, Jose and Manuel was waiting for him.

Terrance had just pulled in and was getting out of the car.

While, Jose and Manuel was walking towards him.

Manuel asked Terrance, “Why is their money in this bag?”.

“I don’t know”, Terrance said.

“What do you mean?”, Jose asked.

“Okay coz, here it goes”, Terrance said, then he continued, “The bag that has some money in it, it belong to Abraham, as you know he is the rapper, but what you don’t know it that, he is my brother”.

“Why didn’t you say that before?”, Manuel asked.

“I didn’t, because, I didn’t want the paparazzi, after me, like they were after my brother”, Terrance said.

“Brother, you should’ve told me”, Jose said.

“So, the money in the bag, is from the royalties, of the songs Abraham was rapping about?”, Manuel asked.

“Yeah, man”, Terrance said.

“Okay, that explains, why the money is in the bag, but, it does not explain the stranger, who broke into your parent’s house”, Jose said.

“I think I know who the stranger is and I will prove my theory”, Manuel said, as he had crossed his arms.

“Who is he?”, Jose asked.

“I can’t say now, Jose, but, trust me, I will tell all of you soon, enough”, Manuel said, as he unfolded his arms.

A few minutes later Terrance’s parent’s arrived home in two separate vehicles.

Jose decided he was going to go to the precinct and clock out, while, Manuel decided to walk home.

Terrance told his parents, the story about, a stranger who broke into their house.

Terrance’s parents had asked, Terrance, if he called the police.

Terrance told them, “That is why Jose was there”.

Terrance and his parents had went inside of the house and close the door.

Both of his parents were in shock.

Terrance told them about the money and his parents, was glad that the money was still there, and that Terrance’s father was going to put it in the bank.

Meanwhile, Manuel’s parents called from their jobs.

His father called first and told Manuel he would be late and a few minutes later his mother call, to say the same thing.

Meanwhile, Jose was at the precinct, clocking out.

Jose was thinking, as he went to clock out, He wonder why Terrance never said anything to him, Michael and Manuel.

Jose continued to think.

He was feeling bad, as he clocked out, he went to his patrol car and sat on the hood of it.

Jose thought that his friendship with Terrance was a lie.

Jose started to remember, the days when they were all children.

Jose remembers, that Terrance moved into the neighborhood.

Terrance was new and he did not know anyone.

So, Jose went over there and introduce him.

That was the day Jose and Terrance became friends.

Meanwhile, Michael had just came back from work and his parents were right behind him. Manuel saw, outside, through his window, in the living room, as Michael and his parents were pulling in at their drive way.

Manuel was thinking about the stranger, that he had saw last night. Manuel couldn’t stop thinking, he knew who the stranger was.

So, a few minutes later, when Michael and his parents were going into their house, a car pulled up, next door.

Manuel started to look closely, outside of the window.

It was the stranger, that Manuel saw.

He knew he had to do something.

So, as soon as the stranger, had gotten out of his car, he closed the door, of his car and was headed for the front door.

Manuel knew, he had to find out more clues, about this stranger.

As soon as the stranger went inside, Manuel put the curtain back, over the window and he slowly, walk to the front door.

Manuel open the door slowly and walked outside. He ran next door.

The house that the stranger had been coming in and out of .the house.

Manuel, walked slowly towards the front door, of Abraham’s house, and he slowly opened the door.

There was some candle’s lit, in the living room, which, Manuel had notice, the living was a little bright than last night

So, he slowly walked inside of the house, he notice the stranger had taken off his shirt and put it on the sofa.

The shirt, that the stranger was wearing, belonged to Abraham.

Manuel remembered that day, when Abraham had came back, from one of his concerts, with that same shirt, which was on the sofa.

Manuel heard some whistling noise in the house and he decided to hide where the sofa and the dresser, were.

It seem that the stranger was whistling.

Then, all of a sudden, he heard a door close.

Manuel had gotten up and decided to see, where the stranger was.

He went down the hall and saw a light, through the bathroom door.

He heard some water running and he thought the stranger was taking a shower.

It seems so strange.

Manuel decided, to go to the back bedroom and when he had gotten to the back bedroom, he saw some clothes, lying on the bed.

Manuel was so confuse, that he had to take a closer look, in the bedroom.

Manuel saw a dresser and decided, to open one of the draws.

He had open the top draw.

Manuel had saw some compact discs of Abraham’s album in the draw.

It so odd.

Manuel knew who it was and he was thinking, of a way to expose the stranger.

Manuel knew, the stranger, had to confess to him, who he was.

So, Manuel had to come up with a plan.

Manuel saw a rope, by the bed.

Manuel knew, he was going to tie, one of the end of the rope, to the bed, which was on the right hand side and tie the other end of the rope, to the door knob.

Manuel cut off the lights, in the bedroom and waiting for the stranger.

Manuel knew, the stranger would come in the bedroom, to get dress, he would trip on the rope and fall down on the floor.

As soon as Manuel, heard the stranger coming out of the bathroom, he hid under the bed and waited for that moment.

The stranger was coming towards the bedroom and he saw the light were off and he was thinking to himself, out loud, “Why were the lights were off”.

All of a sudden, the stranger tripped.

As he feel to the floor, Manuel ran to put the lights on.

“I know it is you!”, Manuel yelled.

“Who are you?”, the stranger asked.

“Don’t play dumb with me, you know exactly, who I am”, Manuel said.

“Should I know you?”, the stranger asked.

“Abraham, you can stop the stupid act, I knew it was you all long”, Manuel said.

As the stranger had gotten up he started telling Manuel.

“Okay, Manuel, you are right”.

“Why, Abraham, why did you kill that young man?”, Manuel asked.

“What young man?”, Abraham said.

“The one that I heard on the news last night”, Manuel said.

“I don’t know what you are talking about”, Abraham said, as he looked confused.

“Abraham, I heard on the news that a young man, names Marshall Smith”, Manuel said, with an angry look on his face.

“I heard about that, but it wasn’t me, I heard there was a killer running loose”, Abraham said. “Who is the killer?”, Manuel said.

“I don’t know”, Abraham said.

“Why don’t you tell me; why you are not dead; like I heard on television and Terrance went to California and get the newspaper and it read that you died, why don’t you tell me the whole story?”, Manuel asked.

“Okay, here goes the whole story, but I want you sit down on the bed and I will tell you everything”, Abraham said, as he went, to sit down, next to Manuel.

“First of all, when I became a rapper, everything was all good, then all of a sudden I was making a lot of money; I thought that I was better than everyone; it didn’t work out like that; I knew that I wanted to help, my family, but it didn’t happen that way; My mother never liked me becoming a rapper; she thought that was a stupid idea and my father hated the idea, of his son, every being in the music business; I was lost and could find my way back; I know that I could have call you, Jose or Michael, but I didn’t; I thought I could handle the whole situation by myself; it didn’t work like that; I was depress; I decided to start drinking and I couldn’t understand why; I was also in debt; many manger had call me and told me that I was spending all of my money and that I didn’t have anymore money; I was so broke that I couldn’t do anything; I know what you are going to say; I was rich; I was famous; I had everything; no; I didn’t have anyone who loved me; I had lost myself and my faith; I decided to get a job as a stock man at Tyrone’s Supplies; I know that I wouldn’t like the job, but I had to do something; I work there for one year; I was getting paid ten dollars an hour; to do the job; I knew that I had to get out of the deal with New Generation Records; the company gave me a one million dollar deal; I knew that I was tired of being a rapper and I wanted to do something different, but it didn’t happen, so I decided to fake my own death; I knew that was the only way to get out of the deal with New Generation Records and pay off my debts; I was gambling my money away; I spent three thousand dollars; in one night; I was going to strip bars and giving those girls, five hundred each; I had five different women each night; I had max out my visa card and my master card; they both had five thousand dollars, each, so, I had a total of ten thousand dollars; I spent both of my credit cards in one year; I was spending my money on two cars, which each one was worth twenty thousand dollars, each, two trucks, they were worth twenty thousand dollars, each, on a house that I couldn’t afford, which, was worth one million dollars; I bought, ten gold chains, that was worth, One thousand dollars each, the most expensive clothes, like the shirts were one hundred dollars each and I bought, five of them; I sure you saw one of them on the sofa, when you walked in, the pants were one hundred dollars each; I bought five of them, the most expensive shoes, each one was two hundred each and I bought five of them, hat, such as base ball caps that was worth fifty dollars each; I bought five pair of sock that was nine dollars each; I bought five pairs of suits that were one thousand dollars each; I bought three of them; I bought some under wear that was nine dollars, each, I bought five pairs of them; I had everything; I had a ten million dollar deal; I blew all that money on everything I wanted; I paid women, five hundred dollars to have sex with me; it was five nights for each women; I had it all; not even my royalties were enough; my royalties that I was getting paid was ten cents off of all my compact disc, cassettes, music videos, digital video devices(D. V. D. ’s); the company produced, one million copies, of all of the products, that I mention; I even paid three hundred dollars, to insure my house; it was a thirty year deal; I help my parents pay their house out, which was worth one hundred thousand dollars; I bought my parents and my brother; you know him Manuel, his name is Terrance, each their own vehicles, which was worth twenty thousand dollars, each; I was helping them pay insurance, of three hundred dollars, each; I spent one thousand dollars to help my brother, get some clothes, shoes, pants, socks; I even bought everything you see in this house; television, bed, dresser draws, a sofa, a lamp, video games; I stayed in apartments, when I was in Los Angeles, California; food to eat; I bought the best which cost me twenty thousand dollars; that was the last bit of money I had left, so, I thought if I died that my brother will have the money and I could come back for it later”.

Abraham was telling Manuel all of that with a sad look on his face.

Abraham knew he had blow all of his money on everything he wanted and he was thinking about doing something different.

As, Manuel looked at Abraham with a shock look on his face.

“Why the disguise, of being some stranger in the neighbor hood?”, Manuel asked.

“I need to come back home; I had no where else to go”, Abraham said, as he had a sad look on his face.

Then, Manuel told Abraham, “I have to leave and I won’t tell anyone that you are alive, but, I think Terrance needs to know that”.

Then, Manuel got off of the bed and was headed down the hall. Abraham was still on the bed sitting down, thinking, of what he could tell his brother.

Manuel, left the house and Abraham sat on the sofa to think about what Manuel told him.

A few minutes later , Manuel had entered his parent house and Abraham, had picked up the telephone to call his brother.

Meanwhile, Jose had just arrived home.

Jose stepped out of his car and he was thinking about going to see Manuel and Terrance.

Jose was thinking that, he, Manuel and Terrance, needed to talk.

Meanwhile, Terrance heard the telephone ring and he went to the living to pick up the telephone.

He answered it by saying, “Hello”.

“Terrance, listen up, I just want to tell you, that you need to come next door to Manuel’s house; Terrance, don’t say nothing, just do it”, Abraham said.

Terrance had put the telephone down and he was so confuse about the situation.

He didn’t know who had call him and why someone would call him next door to Manuel’s parents house

. Terrance remembered Abraham used to lived there, which was his brother.

As soon as Jose started walking inside his parent’s house, he saw Terrance leaving his parent’s house and was going next door.

Jose knew something is going on and he wanted to find out.

Terrance was skeptical, as, he was going next door.

Jose ran to the front end of his car and ducked.

Terrance had arrived next door and he knocked.

Abraham, heard someone knocking, at the front door, he was nervous.

He did not know what to say to his brother.

Then, Abraham had opened the door and Terrance had walked in. Abraham had closed the door and Terrance just stared at him.

“Terrance I know you are going to be upset, about this whole situation, but, let me do all the talking, Terrance, I am your brother and I did not die in Los Angeles, I had to pretend I died, because I owed some money, to the credit card company, and the recording company”, Abraham said.

“Abraham, I don’t understand?”, Terrance said, in a surprising tone.

“I know”, Abraham said.

“You could have call me, you are my brother”, Terrance said.

“I know, I thought I could have everything myself, I was ashamed, that if I owned all this money wouldn’t be proud of me”, Abraham said.

“I don’t know what to say anymore!”, Terrance said, in a loud voice. “I understand, Terrance”, Abraham said.

“You don’t understand!, you care about me!, you never did!”, Terrance yelled, as he ran into one of the bedrooms, in Abraham house.

Abraham felt sad. Abraham knew that his brother would not understand, the situation. Meanwhile, Jose had came close to Abraham’s house.

He decided to see if the door was open, while Jose was checking, to find out, if the door was opened, Abraham went to find his brother, in one of the bedrooms.

Jose had turned the knob of the front door, to see if it is was unlocked; it was.

Jose went inside of the house and he heard two people talking.

Jose was suspicious.

He was going to find out, what was going on.

As, Jose went into the kitchen, he was walked down the hall-way and he saw Terrance on the bed, with his head hanging down, and his arms were resting, on his top, part of his legs.

Jose saw a man standing over him, trying to explain the situation, when, Jose accidentally hit the door and Terrance and Abraham saw him.

“I can’t believe it’s you”, Jose said, as he looked, surprise.

“Jose, I know, you thought I was dead, but I’m not, I want you and Terrance to listen to me; I was in trouble; I owed, so much money that I couldn’t do anything; I wanted to call one of you, but, I didn’t; I was afraid that all of you would think that I wasn’t making it in the music business; I didn’t want to let no one down, especially y my brother, Terrance; I knew, if you thought I was a loser, than you wouldn’t respect me as a man, or as my brother; I had to pretend that I was dead, so I could have my brother, get all the royalties that was owed to me and try to come back and talk with him, but, it didn’t work like that; I know both of you think that I killed that young man, but I didn’t”, Abraham said.

“I just wanted to know, the truth”, Terrance said.

“What will happen now?”, Jose questioned.

“Well, Manuel, already know, I’m sure, Michael is the only one that doesn’t know, beside our parents; now his comes the hard part; I want all of you to not tell any of our parents; I will let Michael know as soon as possible”, Abraham said.

Terrance had decided, to forgive Abraham and he went over to hug his brother and to say that he forgive him.

A few minutes later, Jose and Terrance had decided to leave and go home.

Abraham was trying to figure out, how he was going to tell Michael.

A few minutes later, everyone in the neighborhood was cutting their lights off and seemed to be going to be, or that was what Abraham had thought.

Michael was still up that night and he decided to move the curtains, he had wanted to open the window, for some fresh air.

Michael, had seen a man, through the living room window, in Abraham‘s house.

It seemed that someone had a light on, in Abraham’s house and the curtain’s were moved.

He decided to check it out.

As soon as Michael slowly, opened the door and he closed it.

Michael had to find out who this stranger was.

He was in Abraham’s house.

As soon as Michael had went over to Abraham’s house, he decided to slowly open the door. As soon as he opened the door, he saw a man walking towards the kitchen.

Michael, slowly walked towards the kitchen and he saw the stranger walking down the hall. Michael had to find out who was in Abraham’s house.

As Michael started walking towards the same bedroom, that the stranger was headed too.

The stranger had went in the last bedroom and was going to turn on the light, while Michael was slowly creeping up behind him.

When the stranger turn on the lights, Michael, was getting ready to slowly, put his hands on the stranger.

As soon as Michael had, slowly put his hands on the stranger, he startled, the stranger.

“What is going on?”, the stranger asked.

Then, the stranger turned around and Michael saw him and said, as he had, a surprise look, on his face, “I know who you are”.

“Michael, I am Abraham; before you leave; let me explain to you why I am here; it all happen when I was in debt and I could find any solution to the problem; I wanted to call one of you and I didn’t; I know that all of you; Jose, Manuel, Terrance and you, don’t care about me anymore or even hate me for what I didn’t do”, Abraham said.

“Why did you come back?”, Michael questioned.

“I had to, because I needed my money to pay off the debts that I owe”, Abraham said.

“Who do you owe?”, Michael questioned.

“I owe the record company; I owe my credit card company; I owe on this house; I owe on the insurance, which I had put on this house; I owe insurance on the car that I have; I had to sell my truck in order to make it”, Abraham said.

“So, now you need our help”, Michael said.

“I need the money that Terrance have, but I wait for that but, I have a favor from you; I told Jose, Manuel and my brother Terrance, to keep a secret about me, so if you please, if you don’t mind, keeping my secret, I would appreciate it”, Abraham said.

“Not a problem; I will”, Michael said.

“I’m going to leave now and let you make a decision on how you will fix this situation”, Michael said, as he was leaving .

As soon as Michael left the house and was headed towards his parent’s house; Abraham had closed the door and locked it and cut the light off in the living room and went towards the last bedroom.

Abraham had to find a way to leave this city and find another way to get out of debt. Abraham’s had a troubled mind and didn’t know what to do.

Abraham had remembered in his past whenever he was in trouble or had a trouble mind, his mother would tell him, that he had to say some prayers and eventually God would help him. So he had gotten on his knees and prayed.

As soon as he had said his prayers, he crawled into bed and decided, to see if he could sleep. Abraham knew that he needed the money to finish paying his debts out.

He knew, he had to tell Terrance eventually, about the money that was in his possession.

As soon as Michael had arrived in the house, his father had woke. Michael’s father had saw his son walk in and he asked his son, “Michael, where have you been?”, his father said.

“ I went out to get some air”, Michael said.

“Okay, then”, his father said, as he had a suspicion, his son was hiding something.

Then, Michael, had went to his room and his father had went back to his room.

Michael’s father, had woke up his wife and said, “Marie, I think something is wrong with our son”, Michael’s father said.

“What do mean, James”, Marie said.

“Michael had went outside and he told me he went get some air; come on now; late this hour”, James said.

“So what do you want to do, James?”, Marie asked.

“I think we should go outside and see what our son was doing”, James said.

So, Michael parents were getting dress and they had decided to go outside and see what Michael was doing outside.

Meanwhile, Terrance could not sleep and he had decided to go next door to his brother’s house.

As, Terrance had put on some clothes and he slowly walked towards the living room and slowly opened the door and walked outside.

As, Terrance had slowly turn the knob, on the door to go outside.

Terrance had looked around to find out if anyone was watching him and he ran to Abraham’s house.

Meanwhile, Michael’s parents had seen Terrance, through the crack in the door, Terrance had went next door, Michael’s parents decided to follow Terrance and see, what he was up to. Meanwhile, Jose could not sleep that night and he decided to go see Abraham.

As, soon as Jose had woke up and put on some clothes, he slowly walked, towards the living room.

As soon as Jose had went to the door, he slowly opened it and he has saw Michael’s parents going to Abraham’s house.

So, Jose slowly close the door and he went, to pick up the telephone and call Abraham.

Jose’s father had heard someone talking, in the living room and Jose’s father slowly went to see who was in the living room.

He slowly crept into the living room and saw his son on the telephone.

Jose’s father did not know who Jose was talking to, but he slowly went back to his room and wake up his wife.

Jose’s father started to pushing on his wife until she woke up.

When Jose’s mother woke up, and said, “What is going on, Jose?”, Jose’s mother said. “Linda, our son is talking to somebody, on the telephone”, Jose Senior said.

“He is always talking to somebody, on the telephone”, Linda said.

“At this late hour, of the night”, Jose Senior said.

So, Jose Senior and Linda woke up.

They both gotten dress and they decided to go into the living room and find out, who their son was talking to.

Meanwhile, James and Marie had just arrived at Abraham’s house.

James slowly opened the door and Terrance had heard someone trying to open the door and he hurried up and closed the door.

James said, “I know someone is in the house, Marie, so we have to find out another way to get in”, James said.

Then, Terrance had ran towards the hall calling Abraham’s name.

As soon as Abraham had gotten off of the telephone, he ran to see who was calling him. Abraham had saw Terrance coming toward him.

“My brother...”, as Terrance took a breathe, “You have got to leave, someone else, is coming into the house”, Terrance continued.

“I know, it is Michael’s parents”, Abraham said.

Then, Abraham went into the back bedroom and started to pack.

As, Abraham was packing, he was thinking maybe that wasn’t a good idea and maybe he should come clean to his family.

Then, Abraham had stopped packing for a few moments and he said to Terrance, “Maybe, I need to come clean to our parents, Terrance”.

“Why, brother?”, Terrance asked.

“Maybe, if I tell them, they will understand”, Abraham said.

“I don’t man”, Terrance said.

So, then Abraham proceeded to finish packing.

Meanwhile, Jose’s parents had walked into the living, after Jose had put down the telephone. “So, who were you on the telephone with?”, Jose’s father asked.

“Nobody, dad”, Jose said.

“Well, it looked like someone you were talking with, my son”, Jose father said.

“Tell you father, who it was”, Jose mother said.

“Listen, I have to keep this a secret”, Jose said.

“Are you in trouble?”, Jose mother said.

“No mom, I’m not”, Jose said.

“What is going on?”, Jose mother asked, as she went towards the sofa, to sit down.

“Maybe it is all my fault, I should have stopped you from becoming a police office”, Jose mother said, as she did not know what to make of the situation.

“Mom, it is not you, I have a friend that is in trouble”, Jose said, as he went sit on the sofa and put his arms around his mother.

“Who, Jose, who is in trouble?”, Jose father asked, as he went to knee down, on the side of his son’s feet.

“I can’t tell you, or mom, because I made a promise not too”, Jose said.

“I understand son, that is the way it is”, Jose’s father said, as he was getting up, off his knees. Meanwhile, Manuel could not sleep.

He decided to go see Abraham.

As, Manuel had gotten up and put on some clothes, he was headed for the living room.

He decided to walk towards the door and slowly open it up.

As he slowly open the door, he saw Michael’s parents going around the Abraham’s house. Manuel, had to find out what they were doing.

As soon as Michael’s parents had went around the other side of Abraham’s house, Manuel had ran next door and open the door.

Terrance had heard someone come in.

Terrance went see who it was.

Terrance notice it was Manuel who came in.

“Terrance, did you know, Michael parents are going around the back way”, Manuel said. “Yeah, coz, I was told by Abraham, he said Jose called him and told him”, Terrance said. “What will Abraham do?”, Manuel asked.

“Don’t worry, he is packing his bags and getting ready to leave”, Terrance said.

“You are going to miss your brother”, Manuel said.

“I know, but, I have no other choice”, Terrance said.

Meanwhile, Michael could not sleep any more.

He had gotten dress and went towards the living room.

He had decided to go and see Abraham.

All of a sudden, as he opened the door, he heard some noise outside.

Michael, went to check on, what was going on.

He had saw Jose’s father walking out of the house and his Jose mother was not to far from Jose’s father.

Michael wanted to find, out what was going on.

When he had gotten to Jose’s parents house, he had asked Jose’s father what was going on. Jose’s father told Michael, that Jose was hiding a secret.

Then, Michael was thinking in the back of his head, the secret must be Abraham’s return.

All of a sudden, Jose came outside and saw Michael.

Michael had saw Jose and went near the front door, where Jose was looking at Michel. “What’s going on?”, Michael asked.

“My father wanted to know the secret, I have about a friend of my”, Jose said.

Michael knew what Jose was talking about.

So, Michael went towards Jose’s father and told him, that the secret was about him.

Jose’s father said, “Why don’t you tell me what the secret is?”.

“It is about women”, Michael said.

“Is that so”, Jose’s father said.

Meanwhile, Terrance’s mother went to check on her son.

She saw the door was open and went inside of her son’s room; she turned on the lights.

She notice he was not there and she ran to wake up her husband.

She ran in her bedroom and started shaking her husband as she yells, “Jacob, wake up!”.

Her husband wakes up and yelled, “What in the world is going on with you!”.

“Terrance is not in his room”, she said.

“Susan, you are dreaming again”, Jacob said.

“I am not dreaming, Jacob”, Susan said.

Susan ran out of the bed and went to the living to call the police.

Jacob decided to wake up and go see for himself, if his son is sleeping in his room.

Jacob had went to hi son’s room and he notice the door was open, so he went inside.

He turned on the lights and his son was not there.

Jacob went to the living and saw his wife on the telephone.

Jacob went sit down on the sofa, while his wife, was still on the telephone.

Meanwhile, Manuel’s mother had woke up.

She decided to go and check on her son.

She went to his room and saw that the door was opened.

She ran to wake her husband in the bedroom.

As soon as she came back to her bedroom, she started yelling, “Isaac, wake up!”.

“What is going on!”, Isaac yelled.

“Our son is missing!”, shed yelled.

“Tina, I am trying to get some sleep; you have an imagination that runs wild; I know my son is in his bedroom; if you would shut up for a few minutes; I can get some sleep”, Isaac said. “You want to talk about noise; when we are having sex; you are the one that screams like a girl; people thinks it is me, but, it is you; foolish man”, Tina said.

“I thought, we would not say nothing about it”, Isaac said, as he felt ashamed.

“Then get your big butt up and help me find our son”, Tina said, as she was in a panic state. “You better be telling the truth, Tina”, Isaac said.

Meanwhile, Michael’s parents were at the back door of Abraham’s house.

Abraham had just finish packing and went into the bathroom.

Terrance had picked up his brothers bags and went to put them on the sofa.

Then, Terrance went back into the room and he saw a shiny object, near the bed.

Terrance decided to pick it up and it was a fifty-seven magnum.

Terrance was wondering what Abraham was doing with the gun.

Terrance decided to put the gun, in his pants, on the right hand side.

Then, he pulled his shirt over his pants where no one could see it.

Michael’s parents had slowly opened the door, while Terrance was in the last bedroom, putting the gun away.

As Michael’s parents were slowly entering the house, Abraham was coming out of the bathroom.

Michael's parents heard some noise and they ran out of the back door, not knowing they had lock the back door.

As soon as Michael's parents believe that no one was near the back door, his father tried to open the door.

He realize it was locked, and his wife said, “That’s just great, James, always doing something stupid”.

“You think I’m the only one that does stupid things; remember when you locked the bathroom door, or maybe you remembered the day, when you lock us both outside of the house; does that refresh your memory”, James said.

“Don’t be so childish”, Tina said.

“We will have to go to the front of the door”, James said.

Meanwhile, the chief of police had send four officers to the site where, Terrance’s mother had told them.

“You decided to sit on the sofa, while our son is outside somewhere; maybe kidnap”, Susan said.

“Susan, you are always over reacting, as usual”, Jacob said.

“Well, we need to find our son”, Susan said.

“We will, but remember, God is watch him right now”, Jacob said.

Meanwhile, Jose senior, Jose Junior, Michael, and Linda, had went inside of Jose’s senior’s house.

They were going to talk about women.

“So, Mike, you want to know about women”, Jose senior said.

“Yes sir”, Michael said.

“You know what, I think you two are not telling me what is going on, in this neighborhood; I’m going to find out, what is going on”, Jose senior said.

“Dad, Michael told you, the secret”, Jose junior said.

“Yes, I know, both of you want to know about women; bay can you put some tea on; I have to tell these young men about women”, Jose senior said.

Meanwhile, Terrance said to Abraham, “Well, my brother, you are packed, so you can go out the back door”.

“Thanks, my brother, I appreciate it and I will never forget you”, Abraham said.

So, Abraham had tried to open the back door and it was locked.

Then, Abraham had unlocked the back door and then, he took off.

Terrance had locked the back door and Manuel and Terrance had start from the bedroom, cutting off the lights, in the house.

As soon as they were finished, they both ran towards, the front door.

Terrance had open the front door and he and Manuel ran outside and then, Terrance had to go back to lock the front door.

As Terrance went to lock the front door, Michael’s parents was coming around the front end of the house and they saw Manuel.

Terrance had locked the door. Michael’s parents had ran to see Manuel.

“Manuel, what is going on here”, James said, as he had a confuse look on his face.

“Nothing much sir”, Manuel said.

“What kind of fool, do you think I am?”, James said.

“Please don’t answer that”, Marie said, as she interrupted, James.

“What do you mean, Marie”, James said, as he was getting angry with her.

“You think I’m a fool, do you?”, James said.

“Baby, I don’t”, Marie said. As James and Marie talked for a few minutes, Manuel and Terrance left.

Manuel was going home and Terrance was headed for his house when, Manuel’s parents had open the door and they saw their son and Terrance.

“Why don’t you boys come in!”, Isaac yelled.

As soon as they heard Manuel’s father, they went to see him.

“What is going on, Isaac?”, Tina asked, as she had saw her husband, standing at the front door.

As soon as the two young men, had arrived, at Manuel’s parents house, they both went inside. Manuel’s father had closed the door behind him and he asked, “What is going on, Manuel?”. “Dad, it is a long story”, Manuel said.

“Try me”, Manuel’s father said.

“Well... well”, Manuel paused.

He knew he couldn’t tell his father the truth.

“Terrance, would you like to tell me what is going on?”, Manuel’s father asked.

“Like your son said, it is a long story”, Terrance said.

“Both of you are jerking me around!; somebody better tell me something!”, Manuel’s father yelled.

Terrance and Manuel were both nervous and walking around.

Meanwhile, James and Tina had stop criticize each other.

They both remembered that Manuel's father, had call both of the young men into his house, so they both went next door and knocked on the front door.

Manuel’s father heard the knock and went to see who it was.

When he opened the front door he saw it was Michael’s parents at the front door.

“What do you want?”, Manuel’s father said. “We are looking for answers from these two young men”, James said.

“Isn’t that something; so was I”, Manuel’s father said, in a sarcastic way.

“Can we come in Isaac?”, Marie asked.

“Why not?”, Isaac said.

As they went inside of Isaac’s house, they saw the two young men near the corner of the sofa. “We all need to know, what is going on?”, James said.

Meanwhile, Jose senior told the young men, in a harsh way, “Let me tell all of you something, I am not going to play games, with both of you; somebody better tell me something, or I will find other ways to help each one of you”.

“Well. I think Manuel would no more than us”, Jose junior said.

“Is that so”, Jose senior said.

“Yes, I believe it to be”, Michael said.

So, they all decided to go see Manuel. Jose senior, Jose junior and Michael.

As soon as they had left the house, Terrance’s mother had saw her son with Jose and his father and she was going outside to find out what is going on.

Terrance father was on his knees saying his prayers, while Terrance’s mother went to the front door; opened it and went outside.

Terrance had saw his mother from a distance and said to Jose senior, “My mother is coming our way, I know she wants to know, what is going on”.

“Yeah, we all do”, Jose senior said.

As Terrance’s mother, was headed to meet her son, Jose and his father.

Jose senior told the two young men, “We need to stop and wait for Terrance’s mother”.

As Terrance’s mother approach them, she asked her son, “What is going on?”.

“I heard Manuel knows the whole story”, Jose senior said.

Then they all decided to go to Manuel’s parents house.

Meanwhile, Jose senior’s wife was making some tea, she decided to go back into the living room and nobody was there.

She was wondering what had happen to them.

She went to the front door and opened it and looked outside.

She notice her husband was headed for Manuel’s parents house.

She decided to wait until the tea was done and then she would go.

A few minutes later, Manuel’s father heard a knock on his front door.

“Who is it, that is trying to break my door down?”, Manuel’s father said, in an angry tone.

“It is Jose senior”, Jose senior said.

As Manuel’s father opened the door, Jose’s father, himself, Michael and Terrance’s mother walked in.

“What is this; the squad patrol”, Manuel’s father sarcastically said.

“We are trying to find some answers, big boy”, Jose senior sarcastically said.

“A funny man”, Manuel’s father said.

“Why don’t we just take a breath of fresh air and exhale”, Terrance’s mother said.

“Look at this, if it isn't, mother feel good; tell me those yoga classes must make you feel good”, Manuel’s father sarcastically said.

“Maybe, if you wasn’t so, on the heavy side, well, maybe you could be easier; you look like an elephant, that is pregnant; tell me are you having another baby; I thought it was suppose to be a women who gives birth to a child, but, look a here, even a man can do”, Terrance’s mother sarcastically said.

A few minutes later, the police showed up in the neighborhood.

“Well, look here, the cops are here; we always need some, but, couldn’t find anyone”, Manuel’s father sarcastically said.

Meanwhile, Terrance father had finish say his prayers and went outside.

He had heard the police pulled up in the neighborhood

. The four officers had stepped out of the patrol cars and decided to head over to Terrance’s parents house.

As Terrance father had steeped outside, one of the officers had came to see him.

As soon as he came closer to Terrance’s father, he started asking him questions.

Terrance father told the officer everything he knew.

When Terrance’s mother heard the police officers had arrived she ran out of Manuel’s parents house and saw one of the officers talking to her husband.

Both Terrance’s parents did not know much and they could only tell the police officers only what they knew.

So Jose junior was talking to his three friends.

Jose junior said, “My brothers; I just want to let y’all know we are in this together; not only are we Latinos, but we are friends; not just friends, but, brothers for life; so we can’t let anyone know; that we saw Abraham; it could damage our families”.

“Your right brother; we can’t”, Manuel said.

“Yeah, I believe we are family and families stick together”, Michael said.

“I believe that too; I know my brother is out there somewhere; I know I have my brothers right here; Jose you are right; we are brothers for life”, Terrance said.

Later on, the rest of their families were questioned by the police officers and it was time to bring them all to the police station.

So, one of the officers told them, they had to come down to the police station and each one of them, will have to give a statement of what happen that night.

So, the officer called for back up and the chief told four other police officers, to go and help their fellow officers, who were already on the scene.

A soon as the other officers arrived, each one of them took each family in their squad car and started to leave.

Each one of the agreed to go with the officers.

Terrance was the last one that one of the officers was putting him in the back seat of the squad car, with his family.

Terrance glanced over to his parent’s house and saw Abraham, his brother, watching everything from the window, in the living room.

Terrance knew that this would be a night that he would never forget.

As the officer, helped Terrance get into the squad car, the officer closed the door and left
